Astronomy Photographer of the Year

Exhibition Name:
Astronomy Photographer of the Year

Astronomy Photographer of the Year is the largest annual astrophotography competition in the world. Each year the Royal Observatory Greenwich invites astrophotographers from around the world to send in their best images of moons, stars, planets, galaxies, nebulae, skyscapes and some of the greatest astronomical events of the last year. These superb images are captured on all seven continents on anything from sophisticated observatory telescopes to mobile phones. Our expert judging panel winnows thousands of photographs down to a shortlist of c. 140 images, before paring them down further to 31 awe inspiring winning images with the overall winner receiving a prize of £10,000.

Two digital packages are available to hire:
- The 31 prize-winning images. This is perfect for smaller exhibitions, focusing on the highest quality images the competition can offer.
- 100 spectacular images selected from the shortlist, including the 31 prize-winning images. This package best showcases the incredible breadth of the competition.

Both digital packages include three 90-second 'winners films'.

We also offer a range of retail items including an annual publication featuring the entire competition shortlist.
