VISUAL VOICES: Contemporary Chickasaw Art

Description: VISUAL VOICES: Contemporary Chickasaw Art touring exhibition features 15 award-winning, contemporary Chickasaw artists expressing a rich tribal narrative in contemporary fine art aesthetics and materials. With 57 two- and three-dimensional artworks reflecting a variety of themes, techniques and media, the exhibition is as diverse as its artists, many whose exemplary artworks are exhibited and collected globally. The exhibition is expertly curated by Manuela Well-Off-Man, Ph.D., chief curator at IAIA Museum of Contemporary Native Arts in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and Karen Whitecotton, Citizen Pottawatomi Nation, owner of Heritage Museum Services, LLC, in Oklahoma. A unique advantage for each venue hosting this exhibition is travel provided to bring VISUAL VOICES’ Chickasaw artists to the opening reception at each venue, and for public programming such as gallery talks, symposia, or other public events.

VISUAL VOICES is currently available for a 12-week booking period from October 2018 through January 2019, with a discounted exhibit fee to fill this booking period. We also have scheduling available in 2020. We invite you to view Chickasaw artists’ works online at www.chickasawartists.com. Further information about the intriguing Chickasaw Nation and its artists can be found at www.chickasaw.tv/arts. For inquiries, email info@chickasawartists.com, or call +1(580) 889-0587.
